Automatic Whole House Systems

Auxiliary Power Back-up Systems

An automatic emergency generator system designed and installed by Ocean Electric Corp. is a system designed by a company with over 20 years of electrical expertise. Our system is backed by a factory warranty and Ocean Electric Corp’s highly trained electro-mechanical staff offering our customer 7-day 24-hour electrical emergency service.

The installation of any one of the single phase Guardian and or Kohler powered generator systems can be designed to cover anything from basic emergency power, whole house and or commercial applications. Our automatic generators start at 7KW and run into the hundreds of KW; powered either by Natural or LP Gas, and or Diesel. The smaller units are air cooled; larger liquid cooled and can be installed to code on your property.

We are Authorized Dealers of Guardian Generac and Kohler Power Systems. We service what we sell; offer Preventative Maintenance Service Agreements and for many of our generators we offer extended warranty programs. We are a one-stop electrical contractor offering our customer full service for all their line and low voltage requirements; standard to specialty lighting, lighting controls to standby generators, underground / overhead electrical services, repairs & installations. For all your residential and commercial electrical applications “Think Ocean Electric Corp”.

Any one of our automatic systems will be designed so that the utility voltage will be monitored on a 24 hour a day full time basis. When the utility voltage fails the generator will automatically start and transfer the emergency load over to standby power. The system will continue to monitor the utility, and when voltage returns the generator will transfer the load back over to the utility. The system will also be designed so that the generator will automatically start and exercise itself for between ten to fifteen minutes once each week. This exercise time is necessary and will not interfere with the normal operations of electric to the premises.

All electrical connections and wiring will be done to NEC Code. Ocean Electric will customize the gen-set to our customer’s power requirements; basic emergency coverage, full house or anything in between. The electrical loads determine the amount of amperage required and size of the gen-set.

Example: Basic Emergency Standby usually covers the following:

  • Heat

  • Hot water

  • Well water pump

  • Kitchen

    • Lights

    • Refrigeration / freezer

    • Microwave

    • Gas stove igniters

  • Security lighting / alarm

  • Master bedroom / bath lights

  • Strategic light circuits to aid in navigating ones home

No matter the output choice, Ocean Electric will balance the load and maximize the efficient use of your circuitry with the generator output to cover the required needs of the residence. If your present / future plans include expansion we strongly suggest that you incorporate a generator circuit plan now to save money in labor costs absorbed by sorting / lengthen circuits at a latter date.

Example: Whole House Generator System

Property and buildings with the amenities such as air conditioning, pool equipment, hot tubs etc….run same as when LIPA Utility power is on. The generator is sized to the house loads and tied into the house metering equipment, a disconnect mechanism and an automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) to make the system completely automatic.

Whatever your choice in a system; Basic, Partial, Whole House or Manual Operated, Ocean Electric Corp. can customize a system to your specific requirements.

Included with any generator system:

  • Weatherproof steel generator enclosure is standard by the manufacturer; aluminum is available for many and standard on certain models.

  • Generator mounting pad, battery, battery leads & inline circuit breaker.

  • Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).

  • Dependent on output our gen-sets start out using 100 amp ATS, larger units of course require larger ATS and are also available and sized to the gen-set.

Examples of 100 and 200 amp ATS applications are as follows:

  • The 100 amp ATS comes two ways: dependent on application:

    • ATS partnered up with a 100 amp sub panel to isolate the generator powered circuitry.

    • ATS with 8, 10, 12 or 16 circuit built in circuit breaker ATS combo panel as one unit.

  • The 200 amp and larger ATS comes with either a sub panel for partial applications or as a stand-a-lone for whole house application where electrical loads permit.

  • Labor, wire and wired electrically to code; a complete electrical installation.

  • Rigging necessary to locate generator on site.

  • Local Electrical Inspection filing and final on generator system related work completed.

  • Start-up and run tests of all equipment.

Exclusions to the aforementioned:

  • LP Fuel, Natural gas, Diesel and or unleaded fuel; their connection and associated fuel supply to be done and or supplied by others.

  • Any special building permits required by State, County, Town and or Village Entities to be supplied by purchaser.
